Eugenia Tymoshenko met today with European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule to discuss the situation in Ukraine after the EU-Ukraine Summit last month, according to an Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
Also at the meeting was Hryhoriy Nemyria, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration.
Eugenia Tymoshenko and Hryhoriy Nemyria met also with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland. Eugenia Tymoshenko thanked him for his clear position regarding Yulia Tymoshenko’s defender Serhiy Vlasenko, whose ban on traveling outside Ukraine he considers a blatant violation of international norms.
Today the European Parliament is holding emergency debates on the situation in Ukraine following a court’s decision to strip Serhiy Vlasenko, Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense counsel, of his deputy mandate. Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will take part in the discussion on Ukraine.
