The Head of State also congratulated the President of the PACE on re-election to his post at the beginning of 2013.

In his turn, Jean-Claude Mignon noted that PACE was willing to develop partnership with Ukraine in all spheres of mutual interest.

“We must help one another. Not only you have obligations before us, but also we have obligations before every state-member of the Council of Europe,” he emphasized.

The President of the PACE highly evaluated Ukrainian actions “on the way towards democracy”. However, he added that in order to implement all its tasks, Ukraine needed more time. “We understand that you need more time to fully meet the standards and fulfill the obligations taken,” Jean-Claude Mignon noted.
