The Pechersk District of Kyiv has rescheduled for May 15 the questioning of Pavlo Lazarenko’s business partner Petro Kyrychenko about the 1996 murder of MP Yevhen Shcherban, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.
The decision was made at the request of the Ukrainian consul general in San Francisco. Petro Kyrychenko is to be questioned by video conference. Therefore, Ukrainian diplomats in the U.S. must provide the technical means for Petro Kyrychenko to be questioned from the premises of a Ukrainian diplomatic mission in America.
Yulia Tymoshenko has repeatedly stated that she had nothing to do with the tragic death of Yevhen Shcherban and that Petro Kyrychenko’s testimony is false. "This case against me was fabricated by Yanukovych to prevent me from running in the 2015 presidential race," she said in a statement.
The ex-premier stressed that there is "not a word of truth" in Petro Kyrychenko’s testimony. "But I forgive him, because not everyone can stand up to the pressure of an authoritarian regime. He was forced to give false testimony in exchange for the release of wife, Isabella Kyrychenko, who was thrown in jail illegally," Yulia Tymoshenko said.
