About 100 people are picketing the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand not to adopt the draft law “On introducing amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine concerning prevention and counteraction to discrimination in Ukraine” submitted by the government.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, participants of the picket state that this draft law stipulates introduction of “sexual orientation” notion.
They believe that if the law is adopted in Ukraine representatives of sexual minorities will receive “additional rights” (legalization of same-sex marriages, adoption of children by them).
Moreover, the participants of action state that this draft law stipulates introduction of a range of provisions to effective legislation that will “give possibility to sexual minorities to bring in actions in courts and to demand instituting of criminal cases against people, who say something against them”.
