Of allegiance to Ukraine

Members of parliament of VI convocation have took oath of allegiance.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the text of the oath was read by the oldest lawmaker, Communist Party member Ivan Herasimov.

In line with the text of the oath, recorded in the article 79 of the Ukrainian Constitution, every lawmaker swore allegiance to Ukraine. Besides, the parliamentarians undertook to defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, to take care about the welfare of the Ukrainian nation. The lawmakers also swore to observe the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, and to fulfill their duties for the sake of interests of all their compatriots.

After that, the Academic People’s Choir named after H.Viryovka sang the Hymn of Ukraine.

The authorities of Members of Ukrainian Parliament begin since the moment they take oath and sign the text of oath.

Representatives of all the political forces, which entered the parliament, were present at the solemn ceremony.
