A Resolution of the Senate may become tougher if President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych procrastinates the release of ex Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

The press service of the Batkivshchyna disclosed to UNIAN that Senator from Republican Party of the USA John McCain said this during the meeting with chairman of the Political council of the Batkivshchyna United Opposition, leader of the Batkivshchyna faction Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Washington.

In particular, it is said in the report that A. Yatsenyuk and J. McCain discussed a state of relations of Ukraine with the European Union and perspectives of signing of Agreement on association at summit of the EU in Vilnius.

The Senator confirmed a position that for signing this agreement the government of Ukraine should fulfill all the terms, including the release of Yu. Tymoshenko.

They also discussed perspectives of adoption of resolution of the U.S. Senate concerning release of Yu. Tymoshenko because of decision of the European Court of Human Rights.

J. McCain states that in case if V. Yanukovych procrastinates the release of Yu. Tymoshenko and in case of derangement of signing of Agreement on association with the EU, the resolution of the Senate may become tougher.

Discussing the current situation in the parliament of Ukraine, J. McCain paid attention to importance of finishing of electoral process-2012 in Ukraine and appropriate carrying out of fair and transparent elections in five districts up to the “Eastern Partnership” summit in Vilnius.

A. Yatsenyuk invited the Senator to visit Ukraine. J. McCain accepted an invitation and this visit may take place even this summer, representatives of the Batkivshchyna noted.
