A bear attacked the girl, while she was gathering berries in the forest in Ivano-Frankovsk.
The Emergency Service in Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast disclosed to UNIAN that the bear attacked the girl, who was gathering berries with her mother in the forest on July 13.
“Having heard a noise, the girl started running away to her mother. The mother of the victim saw a bear cub and a female bear, who was running directly to her daughter. Suddenly the daughter fell on the ground and the bear jumped on her. The mother of the girl started yelling loudly and the bears ran away to the forest”, said rescuers referring to the words of the victim.
According to information of the rescuers, the girl was hospitalized to Verkhovinska central district hospital with a diagnosis “lacerated wounds of both forearms and thorax”. As of now physicians estimate her condition as “moderately severe”.
