At least two people were killed in suspected cash-in-transit robbery in Ukraine on Monday, the second such incident within the past week, authorities said, according to Xinhua.

According to the Interior Ministry, two security guards were found dead with gunshot wounds in their cash-in-transit vehicle in rural area of eastern Dnepropetrovsk region shortly after midday local time.

Another member of staff, who was transporting the cash, escaped from the vehicle, the ministry said.

A cash box with around 63,000 U.S. dollars was stolen from the van for hauling hard money.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and a major search for the missing security employee.

Last Friday, three people were killed during a cash-in-transit heist attempt in southern Ukraine's Nikolayev region.
