Ukrainian citizen, who is suspected of committing a murder at the territory of Great Britain, refused to cooperate with Ukrainian diplomats.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, director of Information Policy Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Yevgeniy Perebiynis said this at press conference today.

He noted that 25-year-old citizen of Ukraine Pavlo Lapshyn was charged with murder of pensioner Mohammed Saleem on July 22.

According to his words, the citizen of Ukraine has to face trial today.

Y. Perebiynis noted that the British side ensured an observance of rights of the Ukrainian citizen, in particular, he is provided with a lawyer and interpreter.

He also noted that, in accordance with information of the British police, they cooperate with competent bodies of Ukraine to find out additional information concerning the citizen of Ukraine. A group of investigators from antiterrorist units of the British police is about to visit Ukraine in coming days.

“The Embassy of Ukraine in London repeatedly touched upon the issue of organization of a meeting with Pavlo Lapshyn, at the same time, he refused to meet twice, and it is recorded by the British investigating agencies”, - said Y. Perebiynis, having added that the Embassy of Ukraine in Great Britain continues to take measures with a goal to organize the meeting with citizens of Ukraine in order to give him consular-legal help.
