Lyovochkin: President stresses importance of celebrating 1025th anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus’ as holiday of Ukrainian statehood and unity
The Head of the Presidential Administration, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee on Preparations and Celebration of the 1025th anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus’ Serhiy Lyovochkin informed on the measures planned for celebration of the 1025th anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus’ on July 26, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
According to him, on July 26, the exhibition “Great and Majestic” will be opened at the National Cultural-Art and Museum Complex “Mystetskyi Arsenal” with participation of the President of Ukraine.
“The exhibition will contain masterpieces from almost 40 national museums. The whole Ukraine will be represented,” Serhiy Lyovochkin noted.
Also, Solemn Academy dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of Christianization will take place in the National Palace of Arts “Ukraine”.
“These events will be attended by the representatives of all religious organizations of Ukraine as well as public representatives: famous cultural figures, scientists, government officials and diplomats. I am confident that such composition of the participants will facilitate public dialogue and consolidation,” the Head of the Presidential Administration stressed.
Serhiy Lyovochkin particularly emphasized the importance of celebration of the anniversary of Christianization of Kievan Rus’ at the highest level in the context of the great role of Christianity in spiritual, political and socio-economic development of Ukraine.
“The President has repeatedly emphasized that the anniversary of Christianization should become the holiday of our statehood, European identity of our people and country, our spiritual and cultural unity,” Head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Lyovochkin noted.
