EPP: European Court’s decision is grounds for Yulia Tymoshenko’s release

The European People’s Party (EPP) is calling for the immediate release of Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko given the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"EPP notes that the ECHR judgment on Yulia Tymoshenko becomes effective today and reiterates the demand for her immediate release," EPP President Wilfried Martens posted on Twitter.

The EPP resident stressed that "the Ukrainian authorities must stop politically motivated trials and finally meet the EU criteria for signing the Association Agreement."
