26 citizens of Ukraine evacuated from Syria today

26 citizens of Ukraine were evacuated from Syria today.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, director of the Information Policy Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Yevgeniy Perebiynis said this at press conference.

“26 citizens of Ukraine and 4 citizens of Syria – relatives of the Ukrainian citizens were transferred to Lebanon with assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Syria”, - said Y. Perebiynis.

According to his information, Ukrainian citizens were accommodated in a hotel at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's expense  and the Ministry plans to evacuate them to Ukraine in coming days.

Y. Perebiynis reminded that as of today there are about 400 citizens of Ukraine, being on the consular register, in Syria.
