As of today President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych does not have legal grounds for signing of a decree on pardon of ex Prime Minister of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Justice Minister of Ukraine Olena Lukash said this at news conference.
She noted that the only issue, which the Justice Ministry is dealing with concerning Yu. Tymoshenko, is an issue of cooperation with the European Court of Human Rights and communications concerning “the gas sentence” of Tymoshenko.
At the same time answering question of journalists, whether the President has a right to sign a decree on pardon without a personal appeal of the convict, O. Lukash noted that “as of today the President of Ukraine does not have legal grounds for signing of the decree on pardon, it is my personal opinion”.
