Shufrych responded to Tymoshenko’s appointment
Party of Regions threatens with a snap poll
The Party of Regions has intent to initiate a snap parliamentary poll, if the activities of Yulia Tymoshenko’s government cause worsening of the social-economic situation in the country.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Party of Regions lawmaker Nestor Shufrych disclosed this to journalists today.
“If the situation needs an urgent evaluation, and if the Tymoshenko’s government fails to cope with the today’s problems, I do not rule out that we will turn to the Ukrainian nation for it to express its judgement at a snap parliamentary poll”, he said.
According to him, the Party of Regions may repeat the actions of the opposition in the parliament in 2006. “There is such a notion as déjà vu. We merely refuse from 150 mandates of people’s deputies, and, thus, we will force Yushchenko to act in line with the logics of the current developments – to carry out a snap poll”, he stressed.
