The Ukrainian government must resolve the matter of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko before the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has said, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"For the association agreement with the EU to be signed Ukraine must fulfill the requirements set by the EU Council on December 10, 2012, central to which is the issue of politically motivated prosecution. The case of Yulia Tymoshenko must be resolved in time: she should be released and given the opportunity to obtain medical care and rehabilitation," Laurent Fabius said at a meeting in Vilnius with Hryhoriy Nemyria, deputy head of the Batkivshchyna Party and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration, during the plenary session of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC).

France’s top diplomat stressed that his country supports the recommendations of the European Parliament’s mission on how to resolve the issue. "I ask you to convey my words of support and solidarity to Yulia Tymoshenko," he added.
