"Ukraine is capable of protecting its national interests," Viktor Yanukovych emphasized, according to the Press office of President Viktor Yanukovych.
"We say to everyone that we are a sovereign and independent state; that we have our national interests and we will protect them. We have a principled position on any issue with any partner. We feel that the country becomes stronger and more united," the Head of State said at the meeting with workers of culture and art.
According to him, Ukraine gains more and more respect and recognition in the world.
"We can take sports, art, economy – the world started to respect us," Viktor Yanukovych noted.
According to the Head of State, populism and corruption in Ukrainian politics are gradually fading.
"There must be responsible people in politics… Not artistry and deception, but responsibility and fair approach must be in politics. That's what the country and people need today," Viktor Yanukovych said adding that the country was moving the way of reforms in order to become a modern and competitive state.
