The European Union may agree to sign an Agreement on association with Ukraine at the Eastern Partnership Summit even without release of ex Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, if President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych promises to solve this issue.

Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita writes this with a reference to high-ranking diplomat in Brussels.

“It cannot be ruled out that the agreement will be signed even if Yu. Tymoshenko remains in prison. In this case V. Yanukovych should undertake the corresponding commitments”, said the diplomat under condition of anonymity.

He noted that a final decision concerning signing or non-signing of the Agreement with Ukraine may be made on the last day before the summit.

“A final decision may be made even on November 27 in Vilnius by the EU leaders”, - said the diplomat.
