High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will not go to Kyiv for the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE, however her deputy will represent her and hold meetings with Ukrainian power and opposition.
According to an own UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, spokesperson for Catherine Ashton Maja Kocijancic said this at press conference for journalists in the premises of the European Commission.
“She did not cancel her visit. Baroness Ashton will continue negotiations with Serbia and Kosovo tomorrow. That is why she should be in Brussels and it has been in her calendar. Political director, Helga Schmidt will represent her at the ministerial meeting of the OSCE”, - said Kocijancic and added: “She will speak to the Ukrainian power and opposition”.
