Yushchenko met Mikheil Saakashvili

Within the framework of his visit to Georgia President Victor Yushchenko met today with presidential contender Mikheil Saakashvili.

During the meeting internal political situation in Georgia, bilateral relations development, EU and NATO cooperation questions were discussed.

Regarding the pre-term elections in Georgia V. Yushchenko noted that Ukraine is ready to favor democratic and free elections in Georgia. He also expressed assurance that in the existing situation Georgian authorities shall confidently confirm its reputation of young and successful democracy.
