Lawmaker Raisa Bohatyryova agreed to occupy the post of the National Security and Defense Council Secretary.
UNIAN was told about that by lawmaker, Party of Regions faction member Yaroslav Sukhy disclosed this to journalists today.
Asked whether the Party of Regions will consider expelling her from the party, he said: “But what for?”
According to his words, in line with the legislation, R.Bohatyryova must resign from the parliament during 20 days. She also must suspend her membership in the Party of Regions, because the security chief, as well as the Interior Minister and the SBU chairman, must not be members of political parties.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on 24 December President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko signed a decree, appointing Raisa Bohatyryova as the National Security and Defense Council Secretary.
