World condemns Ukrainian power for forces dispersal of Maidan
Representatives of the international community negatively react to today’s attempt of force dispersal of Maidan.
Foreign Minister of Sweden wrote on Twitter that he follows the events at Maidan with a great concern.
“We follow events in and around Maidan at this moment with great concern. Repression is not way forward for Ukraine - reform should be”, - he wrote.
In his turn, U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt wrote on his Twitter “opposition showing restraint of Gandhi. Church bells ringing”.
High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton: “ I am following with sadness how militia officers used force to remove peaceful people from the center of Kyiv. Authorities did not need to act under the coverage of night to engage with society by using force. Dialogue with political forces and society and the use of arguments is always better than the argument of force".
Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius: “Berkut pushing peaceful protesters from #Euromaidan. Tear gas was used. This is to prove, how Government is ready for the dialogue.Lamentable”.
Lawmaker of the European parliament , ex Prime Minister of Belgium Guy Verhofstadt: “Violence in Kyiv must end immediately! Catherine #Ashton should return to the #euromaidan to protect the protesters. We are with #Ukraine.”.
