During the meeting of Cabinet of Ministers President Victor Yushchenko said that he insists on 2008 budget law adoption before January 1, 2008, according to the President`s press-office.
“In order to enter new budgetary year with new corrected financial basis we must do whatever it is necessary for this budget to pass first, second and final reading until the end of this week”, - said V. Yushchenko.
President suggested that necessary modifications to the budget should be introduced during January – February by purposeful workgroup. “I ask you to accept current version of the budget keeping however in mind that issues in social and humanitarian blocks are due to be discussed in more detail after January 15 when purposeful workgroup on introducing modifications to 2008 budget starts functioning”, - said V. Yushchenko.
President also addressed parliamentary fractions leaders and ministers with a request to support this approach and to abstain from discussions on the matter.
