Eugenia Tymoshenko met today with deputies of the European Parliament to discuss the situation in Ukraine after the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, according to the Official web site of Yulia Tymoshenko.

The vice president of the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament, MEP Rebecca Harms, informed that a parliamentary delegation was created to help resolve the political crisis in Ukraine on the implementation of the EP resolution of December 12. Most delegates will arrive in Kyiv today.

"We intend to assist in resolving the political crisis in Ukraine on the basis of the clearly expressed wish of the Ukrainian people for the country’s European course," she said, adding that special attention will be paid to the still unresolved issue of the release of Yulia Tymoshenko and other political prisoners.

MEP Mark Demesmaeker, Deputy Head of Batkivshchyna and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria, and Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko also attended the meeting.
