President of Lithuania that chairs in the EU now Dalia Grybauskaitė states that the EU is about send a signal to Ukraine that Europe expects for Ukrainian people, not for the Ukrainian government.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Grybauskaitė said this to journalists in Brussels before the 2nd day of summit of leaders of 28 countries of the EU.

“Europe is open for Ukrainian people any time, when the Ukrainian state will be ready to fulfill terms and to join the EU in future and to sign the Association Agreement, Europe will be opened for that. It is new. Europe is open for Ukrainian people, but not for the government. It is a signal that Ukrainian people should solve their future and future of the country on their own, but not the government. This government does not sign the Association Agreement, because they do not want to sign it. President Yanukovych has already lost a trust in Vilnius”, said the President of Lithuania.
