OSCE expresses concern about safety of journalists in Ukraine after beating of Chornovil

OSCE media freedom representative Dunya Mijatović expressed concern about safety of journalists in Ukraine after beating of journalist and public activist Tatiana Chornovil.

“It is impossible to put up with attacks on journalists and there should be no impunity for violators”, - it is said in the statement of Mijatović, posted at the web site of the organization the headquarters of which is situated in Vienna.

“I welcome the fact that President Yanukovych condemned the attack and I call upon the authorities to carry out prompt and overall investigation for punishment of culprits”, said Mijatović.
