OSCE is concerned about adoption of law on restriction of access to Internet by VR

OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović expressed concern that the Ukrainian parliament adopted the law that permits to restrict an access of users to Internet on the basis of conclusions of experts.

It is said in the press release of the OSCE, RIA “Novosti” reports.

“I am concerned about today’s decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and call the authorities of Ukraine to stop attempts of restrictions of freedom of speech and freedom of mass media”, Mijatović said.

She also expressed hope that President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych will veto the law adopted by the lawmakers.
