Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel warns Russia that it risks getting considerable political and economic losses due to their actions in Crimea, Radio Svoboda reports.
Delivering a speech in the parliament, Merkel stated: “If Russia continues its course of recent weeks, it will be not only catastrophe for Ukraine”, but it will change the relations of the EU with Russia.
Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel noted that the territorial integrity of Ukraine “is not discussed”, and stationing of armed forces of Russia in Crimea is violation of international law.
According to her words, the EU prepares to impose sanctions, if Russia refuses to start “efficient talks”.
