Justice Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko said this, the press service of the Justice Ministry reports.
According to his words, on March 13 the government of Ukraine submitted to the European Court of Human Rights an urgent application with a request to apply to the government of the Russian Federation temporary measures in accordance with the rule 39 of the Regulations of the ECHR.
Moreover, the government of Ukraine submitted an interstate application that consists of facts of violation of rights that are guaranteed by the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and Protocols connected to it due to the military occupation and control of Crimea by the Russian Federation.
According to the words of the minister, the European Court of Human Rights, having considered the submission, applied temporary measures in accordance with the rule 39 of the Regulations of the ECHR and obliged Russia to refrain from any military actions against citizens of Ukraine at its territory.
