Confrontation between Yushchenko and Tymoshenko to strengthen - Moroz
Moroz assessed perspectives of the two leaders
Leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine Oleksandr Moroz is convinced that the competition between President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko and Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko will strengthen.
He said this in an interview with Stolichnye Novosti weekly №01 (487) of January 15-22, 2008.
According to the words of the SPU leader, V. Yushchenko and Yu. Tymoshenko compete with each other, and this has been creating the political intrigue over several years.
He thinks that both of the politicians are authoritarian in their understanding of the state power, but, at the same time, they cover up with democratic, European rhetoric.
“It seems that Tymoshenko has a better perspective: she relies upon the political force, which was created by her, and which is similar to a sect. Victor Yushchenko does not have any such force”, O.Moroz claimed.
The SPU leader noted that the snap election had double goal – to take away Socialists [the political force of O.Moroz] and to lack votes for the coalition of the OU-PSD and the BYUT.
