The State Duma plans to consider a statement “On Political Repressions in Ukraine”.

In the evening yesterday leaders of all four parliamentary factions and Speaker Sergey Naryshkin submitted this draft law to the Lower Chamber and it is expected it will be included in to agenda of the morning plenary sitting.

Lawmakers note that the State Duma is deeply concerned about mass violations of human rights and freedoms of citizens in Ukraine. “Self-proclaimed authorities, resting upon extremist forces and involving law enforcement bodies, use illegal methods towards their political opponents, using repressions an physical violence with a goal of persecution of citizens on political motives”, - it is said in the draft document, ITAR-TASS reports.
