Barroso: Presidential elections – key to stabilization of Ukraine and whole region

President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso said that presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25 are a key to stabilization of Ukraine and regions, and he called on everyone to respect the results of the Ukrainian elections.

According to an own UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, Barroso said this at news conference with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili after a joint sitting of the government of Georgia and Board of the European Commission.

The EU countries send about thousand of observers to Ukraine and the EU stresses an importance for Russia to recognize a legitimacy of future authorities of Ukraine.
