The UN Security Council declined a draft resolution on situation in Ukraine submitted by Russia.
The Security Council made this decision at its closed sitting, Radio Svoboda reports.
It was the second attempt of Russia, which has been chairing in the Security Council since June, to offer a compromise document. Russian diplomats declared an intention to prevent the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in eastern Ukraine and an escalation of the conflict between governmental forces and armed separatists.
