State Property Fund chief Valentyna Semeniuk and all her deputies, except of Dmytro Parfenenko, have been removed from leadership. Andriy Portnov has been appointed as acting chief of the Fund.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to journalists today.
She pointed out that the today’s session of the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to set up a special group to carry out an official investigation into the operation of SPFU. The Commission will have to inspect whether the Fund violated the Constitution, laws of Ukraine, and whether V.Semeniuk committed any corrupted actions.
“We are working with the Prosecutor’s General Office, and all cases that violate the law will be thoroughly investigated”, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed.
She specified that A.Portnov will be the acting chief of the State Property Fund of Ukraine until the Verkhovna Rada confirms him on the post.
Yulia Tymoshenko also disclosed that new deputy chiefs of the Fund were appointed at the today’s government session.
She stressed that the work of the commission on carrying out an investigation will not influence negatively the work of SPFU and the course of privatization.
According to her, the privatization will even speed up, because earlier it had been dragged out by V.Semeniuk. “I think now the work of SPFU will be much more successful”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
