President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko thinks that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was not ready for solving gas issues with Russia.
He said this in the interview to Inter television channel on Sunday.
V. Yushchenko agreed with the thought that the government was not ready for this development of events. “The new team comes (the government – UNIAN). January comes – it is a time for the new team to reckon, but it does not reckon. February came – the reckonings do not go and the entire ball of ties appeared, which led to the thing that the country faced the fact of gas cutoff”, said the head of the state.
At the same time he noted that after his negotiations with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin there left no unsettled issues, particularly, concerning the reckoning with debts.
V. Yushchenko underlined that no country in the world during the four winter months allowed itself not to reckon with gas – only Ukraine allowed this to itself. “And everybody shift the guilt onto the predecessor: that person did not have time, that person forgot. We speak about the state, about our image, and it is a shame not to reckon during the four months, it is wrong policy of the executive power”, noted the President.
