Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman have congratulated the National Guard on its professional holiday.
"Glory and honor to the courageous soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, who are faithful to their oath, military and civil duty, and who are devoted to the Ukrainian people," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
"I congratulate the National Guard soldiers on their professional holiday!" he added.
In turn, Groysman stressed the National Guard is one of the most important law enforcement agencies of the state, with its servicemen ensuring law and order, protecting citizens and society from illegal encroachments.

He expressed gratitude to all servicemen and civilian staff of the National Guard on behalf of the government and wished them good health, professional growth, prosperity and peace in Ukraine.
