Govt to adopt decree to pay for gas without agreements - Tymoshenko
The government is pressed to keep the existing system of gas supplies?
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at its today’s session, has intent to adopt a decree on introducing a form of payments for natural gas, supplied from Russia, without any agreements and documents on supplies.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to journalists at the government’s session today.
“We will consider a draft decree, connected with providing payments for natural gas under condition, when there are no agreements, verification documents, or any other documents that may be passed by Naftohaz Ukrayiny to the accounting department”, she claimed.
The Prime Minister disclosed that the government is pressed to keep the existing “dirty and unfair” system of gas supplies.
“Today we will, in fact, adopt the same decree that we adopted to settle the situation with gas supplies on October, November, and December (2007). You know, there were no contracts and verification acts as well. We will merely commission Naftohaz Ukrayiny to pay for gas on the basis of the government’s decree. It will allow us, in this or that way, to solve the current situation with natural gas, which was imposed on Ukraine”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
