Ukraine: Militants in Donbas violate ‘ceasefire’ 3,412 times
Russian-backed militants in Ukraine’s Donbas conflict zone have attacked Ukrainian forces more than 3,400 times since a ceasefire between the sides was declared on September 5, the press center of the government’s Anti-Terrorist Operation reported on its Facebook page on Monday.
"The total number of attacks [by militants] since the announcement of the temporary ceasefire on September 5 is 3,412," the press center reported.
“Today [Monday] paratroopers from Mykolayev destroyed a mortar position of pro-Russian mercenaries near the village of Opitnoye."
According to intelligence reports, the mortar position had repeatedly fired on Ukrainian security forces and civilians. Four militants were wounded by the Ukrainian attack on the mortar position. The number of militants killed in the operation is being determined, the press center said.
