Five soldiers injured in conflict zone in last day
Five Ukrainian soldiers have been injured in the conflict zone in Ukraine’s Donbas region in the last 24 hours, National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"Russian-backed insurgents have attacked Ukrainian army positions more than 50 times over the last 24 hours. Five Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. Fortunately, there were no fatalities," Lysenko said.
"In addition, two civilians have been killed and another eight injured as a result of [militants] firing on villages in the Donbas," he added.
