Ukrainian and Russian negotiators agree on ceasefire at Donetsk airport
Talks between the leaders of a Ukrainian-Russian military liaison group at Donetsk airport ended with agreement on a ceasefire, the press center of the government’s Anti-Terrorist Operation said on its Facebook page on Monday.
"An intensification of [attacks by] Russian-backed insurgents had been observed at Donetsk airport,” the report read.
“As we know, the negotiations between the leaders of the joint [liaison] center of Ukraine and Russia in the region of the Donetsk airport have finished, with a ceasefire being agreed.
"The insurgents have fired on the other parts of the front, such as the villages of Pisky, Avdiivka, Petrovske, Mykolaivka, Novokalynove, Debaltseve, Novobahmutovka, Artemove, Slavne, Staryi Aidar, Nevelske and Maiorsk. “Ukrainian soldiers have launched eight attacks for the suppression of active enemy firing positions and to prevent the shelling of civilians. The losses among terrorists are being established now," the press center of the ATO added.
