Explosions heard in Donetsk, one civilian killed
One civilian has been killed and another injured in Donetsk as a result of attacks by Russian-backed insurgents, Ukrainian television’s Espreso.TV channel reported on Friday, with reference to the press service of the Donetsk city council.
"There was a tense situation in the first half of Friday in Donetsk. The sound of artillery has been heard in all districts of the city. As a result of military activity, one civilian has been killed, and another one seriously injured," the city council reported.
It was also reported that the emergency service of city gas company Donetskgorgas had taken calls from residents of Kuibyshev district concerning damage to buildings and gas pipelines in the villages of Azotniy and Chervoniy Orach as a result of shell hits.
In addition, the high pressure gas pipeline that supplies gas to the residents of the city's Leninskiy district has been damaged.
As reported earlier, Donetsk city council reported on Friday morning that the previous night in the city had passed without any military activity.
