Militants continue to violate ceasefire
Russian-backed insurgents have continued to violate the ceasefire with attacks on positions of the Ukrainian armed forces, State Border Service reported on Sunday.
"Thus, on December 6, from 1340 to 1400, Russian mercenaries fired with mortar weapons on a checkpoint near the village of Triohizbenka, a place of deployment of border guards and the Ukrainian armed forces," State Border Service said, according to Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda.
The mortar rounds exploded not far from the post. No soldiers were injured.
In addition, from 2030 to 2120, illegal armed groups attacked a joint checkpoint near the town of Maiorsk with Grad multiple rocket launchers. No soldiers were injured.
Moreover, a border unit has detained at a checkpoint near the village of Vodiane a citizen of Ukraine who was involved in terrorist activities.
"The border guards received the information about this person from the Ukraine’s SBU state security service. A man was found in a car travelling as a passenger coming from territory controlled by Russian-backed insurgents," the report reads.
According to the report, there have been no cases of aerial reconnaissance being carried out by the militants using drones in the last day.
