On Wednesday, during their meeting in Australia, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott discussed the coordination of their actions at the multilateral level, in particular within the framework of the UN.
"The Ukrainian president thanked the Australian prime minister for financial assistance of $100 million that is to be provided by the Australian government to Ukraine within the framework of the IMF, as well as for the assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces," Ukrainian newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli reported on Thursday.
"Abbott said Australia had decided to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with more than $2 million in financial assistance. The parties also discussed the possibility of the participation of Australia in a donor conference for Ukraine that is to be held in early 2015," the report reads.
