Ukrainian army may deploy additional battalion in Ukraine's Zakarpattia region
Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has discussed with Zakarpattia Governor Hennadii Moskal the possibility of deploying a battalion of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.
A working meeting between Poltorak and Moskal was held in Uzhgorod on August 1, as reported on the ministry's website.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of deploying a battalion of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade in the town of Berehove and developing the infrastructure of military units in the towns of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod," the report says.
The two officials also discussed the progress in the construction of infrastructure facilities for Ukrainian military units and housing for servicemen.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly protested against Hungary's decision to create the post of an authorized minister responsible for the development of Transcarpathia and develop kindergartens in the Carpathian basin.
