ATO headquarters refutes reports of heavy fighting in Pisky
The press center of the government’s Anti-Terrorist Operation headquarters has said reports by second-in-command of the OUN volunteer battalion Boris Gumenyuk of fierce fighting in Pisky near Donetsk airport are untrue.
According to ATO headquarters, the rebels did carry out attacks, but they were not very intense: for about half an hour they were firing a mortar, and then an automatic grenade launcher, and the shooting did not end until after midnight.
The ATO press center gave no reports about any wounded, while Gumenyuk reported that a soldier of his battalion had been seriously wounded.
As reported earlier, six Ukrainian soldiers were killed in Pisky on the previous day as a result of militant attacks, according to the commander of the Azov volunteer battalion, Andriy Biletsky.
