Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving the Social Protection of Military Personnel,” as reported by the press service of the head of state.

"The implementation of the law will strengthen the social protection of family members of persons who died after being fired from service as a result of injuries, contusions, injuries or diseases suffered in connection with the defense of their Homeland, and will give them the rights to receive a one-time cash benefit received by families of those who died in the status of servicemen," reads the statement.

The list of grounds for receiving a one-time monetary assistance by military personnel was also expanded, and the right to receive one-time financial assistance to family members of foreigners and stateless persons who perished or died after leaving the service as a result of an illness, wound, contusion or injury during the time of their military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
