Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko says Ukraine and Kazakhstan have signed the Extradition Treaty and the Treaty on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.

"We've signed two really important documents that will allow our law enforcement agencies to cooperate more effectively and ensure the enforcement of judgments: the Extradition Treaty and the Treaty on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan," he wrote on Facebook.

According to the minister, the documents were singed at a meeting with Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kozhamzharov, during Petrenko's visit to Kazakhstan.

"I've been working in Kazakhstan throughout the last days of October. My visit began with a meeting with Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kozhamzharov. We have discussed a wide range of issues on reforming the prosecutor's office and the penitentiary system, as well as those related to the launch and functioning of anti-corruption bodies," he added.
