On Thursday, December 13, some 170 settlements in six regions of Ukraine saw a blackout after power line safety system was triggered due to complicated weather conditions, including snow, wet snow in certain areas, and wind gusts.

In particular, electricity supplies have been disrupted to 85 settlements in Chernihiv region, 40 in Kyiv region, another 30 in Sumy region, nine in Kherson region, four in Kirovohrad region, and two in Mykolaiv region, the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine reported on December 13.

Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to tackle blackouts.

Road traffic safety in Ukraine has been ensured, according to rescuers.

On December 13, further snowfall is expected almost across the entire country;  with the temperatures getting up to + 4 degrees Celsius in certain areas.
