Leader of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epifaniy has said the first synod of the new Ukrainian church will be held after the enthronement of its head.

"The preparations are underway for those things that have already been voiced, because we are preparing for enthronement," he said in an interview to Pryamiy TV Channel.

"On February 3, an enthronement will take place at St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv and the first meeting of the Holy Synod will take place after it, where the relevant posts or synodal management, which will further develop our local Orthodox Church of Ukraine, will be finally approved," he said.
