"I've signed and sent two letters within an hour: to the Ministry of Health regarding legal permission to buy and deliver potent drugs to Vernadsky – in case of surgery – and to His Beatitude Epifaniy regarding the guardianship of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine over the chapel at Vernadsky," head of the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine Evgen Dykyj wrote on Facebook.
The St. Volodymyr Chapel, which is located next to the Ukrainian Vernadsky Research Base Antarctic Station, is considered the southernmost religious building in the world.
