All bodies of miners killed in Zasyadko gas blast on Wed taken to surface
The bodies of all 33 coalminers killed in a methane blast at Zasyadko coalmine in rebel-held Donetsk have been taken to the surface, Donetsk Regional Administration's press service wrote on Twitter.
"By 1930 Kyiv time the bodies of all the dead miners had been brought to the surface. The results of the accident have been eliminated. The coalmine has switched to the technical mode of operation," the tweet reads.
As UNIAN reported earlier, a methane blast shook Zasyadko coalmine at 0520 Kyiv time on Wednesday. A total of 230 miners were working at the mine at that moment. The death toll hit 33 men.
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic where the coalmine is located refused to accept assistance from Ukrainian rescuers.
